Doctor Glass D Ring Wire Engagement fastener kits are specialized 1/4 turn quick-release fasteners used to join fiberglass or other panels together. If you need quick access to an area covered by a panel such as a Belly Pan then Dzus Fasteners are the answer. Dzus Fasteners are also a great item to have in your spare kit for doing quick repairs.

The single-fastener consists of 1x Dzus D Ring fastener, 1x retaining wire style backing plate, 1x nylon washer.

These D Ring wire Style fasteners can be attached and released by hand using the quick-release ring or a flat-head screwdriver.

Fitting
Fitting D Ring Wire Dzus fasteners can be tricky the first time you try them, so please be patient :)
Dummy fitting the fastener first to check engagement distance is the only way to achieve proper results.

1. Fit the backing plate over the underside panel in the required position. 
2. Using the backing plate as a guide, drill a hole through the two panels you want to fasten together, remember to make room on the rear for the backing plate.   
3. Fit the fastener through the hole and into the backing plate to make sure the fit is good. You want it to fasten with the right amount of tension. If it is too tight you may break the fastener - if it is too loose the fastener may rattle free.
4. If the fastener is too loose you can add a nylon washer or an extra nylon washer (not supplied)
   Please note: the nylon washer supplied should be fitted to the D ring shaft after it has been passed through the panel and is used to retain the D ring fastener in place on the panel to stop it from falling out.
